Allergies and Intolerances

If you suffer from any food allergies or intolerances please let us know prior to your stay. Our kitchen is more than happy to accommodate any special requirements, but may need advance notice to source alternative items.

Phone signal

As we are hidden gem in the heart of the Nadder Valley, the mobile phone signal at Howard’s House is poor. It may be possible to make a call from the very top of the garden! However, our wifi connection is strong and therefore internet calls using apps such as Skype, FaceTime and WhatsApp are all possible, and of course via the old-fashioned method of landline.

There is free wifi throughout the hotel, including the Coach House.

All gift vouchers are non-refundable.

Any damages to the hotel’s fixtures, fittings or furnishings will be the guest’s responsibility and charged for accordingly. You authorise us to charge your credit card for any damages incurred, or removal of hotel property.

We have a private car park on-site which is complimentary to our guests.

Dining Room Dress Code

Many of our guests choose Howard’s House for celebrations and special occasions.  Accordingly, the dress code is smart casual, and sportswear is not appropriate.

Howard’s House is a non-smoking hotel, and guests who wish to smoke or vape should do so in our outside areas. Should you choose to smoke in your bedroom, we reserve the right to charge a cleaning surcharge upon or after your departure, which will be an additional night’s room rate and further charges relating to the deep cleaning of the room may also be incurred.

Disabled access

Our public areas are all on one level, and we have a full-sized disabled toilet in the Coach House.

We are a Grade II listed building, and all our bedrooms are located on upper levels. We do not have any lifts. Unfortunately this is an unavoidable feature of the building’s age, size and planning restrictions. We will always do our best to assist wherever possible.
